लाल बहादुर शास्त्री जयंती:-
भारत के दूसरे प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री, की जयंती 2 अक्टूबर को मनाई जाती है | इस वर्ष भारत के दूसरे प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की 116वीं जयंती है | उनका जन्म 2 अक्टूबर 1904 को वाराणसी के पास स्थित एक छोटे से शहर मुगलसराय में हुआ था |
उन्होंने बहुत कठिन समय में भारत की बागडोर संभाली; वह भारत के प्रधानमंत्री थे जब 1965 भारत-पाक युद्ध छिड़ गया | यह वह समय था, जब उन्होंने “जय जवान जय किसान” का अपना प्रसिद्ध नारा दिया | जिसने उन्हें युद्ध के समय में प्रसिद्ध बना दिया |
वह एक साधारण जीवन जीने वाले व्यक्ति थे, महात्मा गांधी के शिष्य होने के नाते वह कभी भी दिखाने में विश्वास नहीं करते थे | भारत की स्वतंत्रता के बाद उन्होंने विभिन्न मंत्रालयों में सेवा की | पं जवाहर लाल नेहरू की मृत्यु के बाद, वे 11 जून 1964 को भारत के दूसरे प्रधानमंत्री बने | उनके कार्यकाल के दौरान भारत ने बहुत तेजी से प्रगति की |
